“Start It Up, Slovenia” goes to Miami

"Start It Up, Slovenia" ("Štartaj Slovenija") and its award-winning spree expands internationally. After winning silver at Warc Innovation Award, the project got recognised at NATPA forum in Budapest with its international potential and originality. In January, its creators will present their work in front of six thousand people.

NATPA, business forum, which brings together big players in the industry of content broadcasters and media platform CEETV, held PITCH & PLAY LIVE competition in Budapest and selected the most innovative television formats of 2016.

The three member committee selected projects based on three criteria: the originality of the idea, universality, and international potential. The joint project between agency Formitas BBDO, media house Pro Plus and retailer Spar Slovenia took home public choice award.

“We’ve come to a conclusion that young people in Slovenia have bold business ideas yet don’t have enough resources and tools to make a breakthrough. The format of Start It Up Slovenia broke down gap and contributed to the realization of business opportunities in the Slovenian market. The success and international recognition of this format exceeded all initial expectation. We are also thrilled with the invitation to officially present the show at the largest international NATPA event in  Miami in January 2018,” commented Aleš Muhič, Pro Plus Marketing Director.

After winning Grand Prix in Integrated at 26th SOF, the joint project between agency Formitas BBDO, media house Pro Plus and retailer Spar Slovenia won silver at Warc Innovation Award. Let's not forget it's been the only campaign on the shortlist that made it from continental Europe.

“Štartaj Slovenija” involved 12 entrepreneurs who presented 12 products, which were introduced to Slovenian public. Also, they earned their place on the shelves of Interspar mega markets., dedicated to the products of “Štartaj Slovenija”.

“Start Slovenia” is the project that is based on the concept of co-creating brand values along with its consumers in the aim of increasing the value of all brands participating in the project, via high project involvement of target consumers”, said Mitja Tuškej, partner at Formitas.

One of the most important communication projects in Slovenia in the last twenty years, titled “Start Slovenia” has been shortlisted for The Warc Innovation Awards. It's also the only campaign on the shortlist that made it from continental Europe.

Last year, Warc announced its Innovation Awards, which recognises innovative thinking that delivers tangible results. Among them is “Start Slovenia”, a joint project between retailer Spar Slovenia, advertising agency Formitas and media house Pro Plus. The project aims to demonstrate that success is achievable if you have a good idea and you’re ready to work hard. “Start Slovenia” involved 12 entrepreneurs who presented 12 products, which were introduced to Slovenian public. Also, they earned their place on the shelves of Interspar mega markets., dedicated to the products of “Start Slovenia”.

“Štartaj Slovenija” Returns For a Second Season

After completion of the first season, creators of one of the most important communication projects in Slovenia in the last twenty years announced the second season. “Štartaj Slovenija" (“Start Slovenia”), brought by media house Pro Plus, retailer Spar Slovenia and advertising agency Formitas, will provide support and media exposure for another generation of young Slovenian entrepreneurs.

The project aims to demonstrate that success is achievable if you have a good idea and you’re ready to work hard. “Štartaj Slovenija” involved 12 entrepreneurs who presented 12 products, which were introduced to Slovenian public. Also, they earned their place on the shelves of Interspar mega markets., dedicated to the products of “Štartaj Slovenija”. Entrepreneurs and their stories were featured in the episodes of television series on commercial TV station Pop TV. Moreover, the project had a strong social media presence and gained a lot of attention and support by general public, while sales exceeded expectations.

And what’s more important: the second second has been announced already!

Fructal keeps you warm at the bus stop

Formitas and Fructal created ads that kept warm all those who waited at the bus stops.

Slovenian company Fructal wanted to create something special for al those who engaged with its “Sunny thoughts” campaign that gathered 10.000 EUR for a bright future of the children.

What could be nicer than a nice warm thank you when it’s cold outside, right? That’s why Formitas agency and Europlakat company designed special add (using citylight posters) at the bus stations, that kept waiting people warm with the help of a built-in heater.

New Book from Mitja Tuškej: No Friends No Brands

No Friends No Brands is not just a manual for branding but also a memoire of Mitja Tuškej, partner and marketing strategist from Formitas agency.

One of the top branding specialists in the region, Mitja Tuškej (Formitas, Direct Media), published a book entitled No Friends No Brands (Brez frendov ni brendov), also in cooperation with the Slovenian brand Marketing Magazin. This is the ultimate manual for branding, a personal story and a book we did not know was so needed.

What an excellent feeling to publish a new book. Congratulations to Mitja Tuškej for this excellent work on more than 350 pages! The content is useful, as it is based on real cases and in adapted to the region we live in. The obviously vast knowledge of theory by Mitja Tuškej is tailored to everyday work in marketing, advertising and communications in Slovenia and the region.

A detailed presentation of the book will be published in the next, 415th issue of Marketing Magazine.
