Days of Communication Announce Its First International Speakers

The team behind Days of Communication, Croatian national advertising festival, announced the first international speaker. Alex Braun, consultant of Croatian political party SDP, will deliver the keynote under the main theme of the festival, which is blurring the borders between advertising and public relations. The event is taking place between 20 March and 2 April in Hotel Lone, Rovinj.

As previous four years, Days of Communication organisers (Croatian Association of Communication Agencies – HURA and IAB Croatia), aim to dedicate the festival’s content to the integration of trends and expertise in the field of marketing communications. After integrating online and offline, creativity and efficiency and Cannes and Croatia, fifth edition of Days of Communication will the integration of advertising with public relations.

So the first international speaker announcement is Alexander Braun, also called “a campaign magician” and “the most influential political consultant” by Czech media and was named Consultant of the Year by the American Association of Political Consultants in in 2014. Most recently Braun worked as a mastermind and a consultant of Croatian political party SDP’s successful election campaign. Another international name, who will hit the stage at the Lone Hotel in Rovinj, is Chuck Porter, co-founder and partner at American advertising agency Crispin Porter + Bogusky, which was named the Agency of the Decade by Advertising age in 2009.

Besides lectures, workshops and panels, Days of Communication features three competitions: Effie Awards (open for entries until 20 February), Mixx (open for entries until 5 March) and IdejaX (open for entries until 10 March).

Effie rewards the most efficient agencies and advertisers, while IdejaX recognises the most creative ideas and projects no matter the type of media Mixx honours the best projects in digital as entries’ assessments are based on creativity, strategy, implementation, use of the media and the results achieved.

“The industry witnessed the emergance of new communication tools and channels. Taking that into consideration, agencies gained new knowledge accordingly. Such an integrated view on communications reflect this year’s event with topics varying from PR to advertising. Since integration is not our final objective, we see our work as a step closer to this ideal. We are located at 359.99 degrees of integration, striving to keep up with the trends of the industry,” said Davor Bruketa, HURA chairman.
